“This series developed in tandem with the driving paintings I have been doing for several years. Often, I end up with far too many images to paint from, so a number of these became the support for a new series. These works share a common intention with the windshield paintings, but their expression is different. Here, the gestural paint strokes are stand-ins for the fluid marks of water, obscuring sections of the windshield while selectivly picking up color from the environment beyond. Shapes collide and overlap to create a seemingly random arrangement, but these works owe their ultimate form from the image underneath.”

Born at the end of the 70’s in the south of « Ile-de-France » region, Sylvain Bousseton, aka sinke, performs his drawing activity since 1996.From an early age, his passion for drawing induces him to repaint the living room of his parents’house ; a good souvenir… But not for everybody ! Some years later he gets back to his « wall » activity via the graffiti from where he takes his alias « Think », then « Cinq » and finally « Sinke ».

Not enough satisfied with his Art’s Degree, he studies Visual Communication and since the very end of his studies, works in freelance for the studio 360 with Thibaut de Longeville (sneakers the movie)as well as for several street-wear brands.

Since 1996, he organizes and takes parts in differents exhibitions based firstly on the graffiti and later on graphics. Sinke paints on canvas, wood or cardboard pieces, skate-boards, sculpts limited number of toys and even if the graph side and the abstract forums have replaced the pur graffiti, the approach remains the same starting points of this works, the typography, the drawing and the calligraphy keep on being the core of the creations.

Nowadays, Sinke still works as a self-employed graphic designer and tries to tare this style and his paintwork up.In 2005 he creates « Headbox » with his friends Erase and Nohan since union makes the power, but also because sharing has always been a source of motivation.
